Purpose, Scope and Content of the Course

The aim of this postgraduate course is to form a perspective on molecular techniques used in research and medical practice, to explain the basic principles and analysis methods used, and to teach data analysis. Within the scope of the course, practice will be made individually with the instructors in the wet laboratory.

At the end of the course, it is aimed to bring researchers and clinicians closer to differentiating genetic concepts and to motivate them to use this knowledge, and to gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills about molecular techniques.

PCR technology, which forms the basis of molecular-based studies, and the use of Real Time PCR technology, which is its improved version, are becoming more and more common in many fields such as biology, agriculture, biochemistry, food and medicine. In clinical biochemistry laboratories, on the other hand, traditional diagnostic tools and methods are rapidly being replaced by molecular diagnostic tools and methods. All researchers are expected to have basic knowledge and skills about these techniques. In order to solve the problems that occur in the methods to be taught, it will be possible to examine the important points that are overlooked in the application of the method and to look at the method from a different window.

Understanding the contribution of genetics to diseases, solving disease mechanisms is the most important step in the way of treatment. The aim of molecular studies in biochemistry is to identify genes and risk factors that cause genetic diseases, to elucidate molecular mechanisms, and as a result, to enable the development of early diagnosis and effective treatment methods.

Tüm bu bilgiler ışığında bu kurs, farklılaşan moleküler kavramlara araştırmacıları ve klinisyenleri yakınlaştıracak ve bu bilgi birikiminin uygulamaya yönelmesine katkıda bulunacaktır.

Application Conditions and Evaluation Criteria

Trainings will be held in English by the trainers of the IFCC-C-CMBC working group, and the participants will work one-on-one. Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of biochemistry laboratory techniques, laboratory safety rules and a basic theoretical knowledge of molecular techniques.

Gender distribution of men/women and participants from different cities across Turkey are need to be balanced. Evaluations will be made according to the order of application.
